    Geo-environmental Engineers - Wakefield


    Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking project investigations with both a geo-environmental content as directed by the Project Manager – seeing the Project through from commencement to completion.  It is expected that employees working at this grade will have project finance awareness, be client facing, self-motivated, exhibit a proactive approach, and work well within a team environment. 



    • Undertaking Preliminary Risk Assessments (Phase 1 Desk Studies) and intrusive site investigations for environmental purposes in line with national standards and codes of practice.
    • Managing fieldwork activities and subcontractors, including pricing of works and dealing with suppliers
    • Logging of soil and rock in accordance with BS 5930:2015
    • Undertaking Task Management duties and resolving any technical issues
    • Preparing health and safety documentation and scheduling soil and water samples for analytical testing
    • Writing factual reports, data processing with some interpretative reporting
    • Assisting senior staff with project related duties
    • Travel and attend internal and external meetings as required

    Person specification:

    • BSc degree level qualified in Geology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering or a related subject essential
    • Experience of undertaking intrusive site investigations, including leading fieldworks including Health & Safety issues, managing sub-contractors, and undertaking sampling and laboratory scheduling
    • Experience in compliance with CDM regulations and production of Health and Safety documentation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Prepared to work as part of a team or as an individual
    • The post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses.  These may include, PTS, NRASWA, CCNSG, towing licence, CAT, First Aid and manual handling training
    • Candidates must be willing to spend a significant amount of their working day out on site and away from home.
    • Full UK driving licence.
