    Ian Farmer Associates Ltd, a member of RSK Group plc, is a geotechnical ground investigation company. Due to recent expansion and increasing workload an exciting opportunity has become available for a Laboratory Technician to join the team in the Washington UKAS accredited geotechnical soil and materials laboratory.


    Suitable candidates will ideally need to be able to demonstrate previous laboratory experience or have an interest in a career working in a soil laboratory environment.


    Laboratory Technician – Washington, Tyne & Wear


    Key responsibilities will include:

    • Carrying out a variety of testing on soil, rock and aggregate samples in the laboratory, to comply with the relevant standards
    • Recording accurately the test data produced for analysis
    • Assisting in the calibration and maintenance of all technical equipment
    • Maintaining a neat and orderly laboratory environment

    Desired experience


    Whilst no previous laboratory experience is required for this role, we are interested in hearing from candidates who have worked in a process driven environment, are comfortable working off order lists and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. There will be lots of manual handling involved in the role and will require moving heavy items on a frequent basis.
