    Envirolab, a member of RSK Group plc, is an analytical laboratory with an outstanding track record for delivering analysis competitively and on time. The company provides environmental analytical services predominately of soil and groundwater samples. We are now looking to recruit a SHE Manager to work in a UKAS and ISO 9001 standard accredited lab. 

     

    SHE Manager - Hyde, Cheshire

     

    Responsibilities

    • Act as Safety Office
    • Induction of new staff
    • Waste management
    • Coordination of Fire Drills and ensuring Fire Warden and First Aider numbers meet requirements
    • Legionella management
    • Monthly SHEQ reports and quarterly score card
    • Local SHE arrangements and office displayed information
    • Annual HAZID and risk assessments
    • Coordinating SHE meetings
    • Coordination of monthly office inspections and closing out of associated actions
    • Keep an up to date inventory of all laboratory chemicals and be responsible for COSHH assessments
    • Staff SHE training and regular review of manual handling, PPE, DSE
    • Service of equipment as per H&S schedule and annual PUWER assessments
    • Communicate SHE incidents and lessons learned
    • Promote staff reporting of NMPI’s
    • Supplier approval
    • KPI reporting as required
    • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory
    • Line Manager responsibility for Cleaning staff

    Person Specification

    • Ideally you are working in a laboratory environment
    • Experience of training staff
    • Proficient with all Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel
    • Organised, versatile with a can-do attitude
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong team player
    • Organised with a methodical approach
    • Able to work in a busy environment
    • Ability to work to tight deadlines
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience of writing reports
    • We believe the role will suit somebody currently working in a SHE role but wanting a step up in responsibility

    Salary and benefits

    • This is a full time post working 40 hours per week, usually 8 – 4.30
    • Salary – £depending on experience
