    Junior IT Helpdesk Technician - Bristol


    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior IT Helpdesk Technician to join the Group IT Department.  The successful candidate will be based out of our Bristol office however due to the geographical spread of our offices, some travel across the UK might be required and expected from time to time.




    Reporting directly to the Senior IT Technician based in Bristol and the Associate IT Director based in our Helsby head office your main responsibilities will be:


    • Primarily providing and responding to 1st line IT helpdesk support incidents and requests from RSK staff using the telephone, email, helpdesk system, remote support tools and face to face
    • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues
    • Installing, upgrading and updating software
    • Setting up and configuring laptops, desktops, phones, tablets and other IT equipment
    • Communicating and liaising with staff on IT needs and reporting them back to the rest of the IT team
    • Assistance in IT projects and upgrades when required
    • Ensuring software licence compliance
    • Ensuring compliance and understanding of the IT policy
    • Data archiving
    • Ensuring security of IT infrastructure


    Required experience


    • Good knowledge and experience supporting Windows 7/10 and Office 2007/10/13/16
    • Some Previous IT support role experience preferable
    • Good knowledge of PC and Laptop hardware
    • Knowledge of Android and iOS on both phones and tablets
    • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP and LAN/WAN infrastructure)
    • Ability to install, support and maintain hardware and software
    • Ability to provide telephone support to remote users of all levels
    • Good communication and outstanding customer service skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
    • Ability to be dynamic, self motivated and work on own using own initiative is essential
    • Well-developed all round IT and people Skills
    • Keen to learn and develop within the role
    • A full UK driving licence is preferable
