Ian Farmer Associates, a member of RSK Group Ltd, is a site investigation contractor with a large fleet of drilling equipment. It is further supported by a fully accredited UKAS laboratory and together with the Geosciences division of RSK, the company makes RSK Group one of the UK’s largest site investigation service providers.
The company has a wide portfolio of clients in a number of sectors including rail, transport, water and property and due to the planned expansion of a busy geotechnical /materials testing department, we have a position for a Field Technician within the Midlands area.
Field Technician - Midlands
The role is predominantly site based and involves, but is not limited to:
Initially, the role will involve working alongside a senior member of staff, in order to gain the experience of performing the required duties under their own initiative. The successful candidate must be able to communicate on daily basis with site mangers, to ensure that client needs are met. It is essential that all test results and site activities are updated daily, and evidence of accurate record keeping in a previous role would be required.
This is an interesting and varied role, and will allow the right candidate to expand their knowledge and experience of material testing in a growing department. We expect the appointed member of staff to accept new challenges and further responsibilities in line with the development of the department.
The role will involve an element of Manual Handling.
