The role will be full time at 40 hours per week to cover a 6 month maternity period.  We are also happy to consider applicants who are looking for a part time role.


Trainee Administrator – Hemel Hempstead


Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role will involve assisting in the administration support of a team of laboratory staff and structural engineers. The main responsibilities will include:


  • Data entry, both numeric and alphabetic
  • Compiling and maintaining project files – paper and electronic
  • Maintaining and updating archive database
  • Project file archiving
  • Retrieval of archive information – paper and electronic (some lifting of 16kg boxes and use of step ladder)
  • Completing general administration tasks
  • Photocopying, printing and binding of reports
  • Supporting all UK offices as required
  • Providing occasional assistance to the laboratories and site teams 

Desired experience

We are looking for someone keen to develop their administrative skills.  The right candidate will need to have the following attributes:


  • Proactive and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and a team player
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel
  • Organised, thorough, versatile with a can-do attitude
  • Pleasant telephone manner 

Salary and benefits: 

  • This is a full time post working 9am – 5.30pm, paying minimum wage
