RSK Environment Ltd, part of the RSK Group plc, is one of the largest independently owned Environmental Consultancy’s. Within our wide range of services offerings, we have a small yet growing Arboricultural team. Due to an increase in workload we are now looking to recruit a new team member. The post is likely to require a mix of days on site and in the office, therefore the successful candidate must be happy to travel and stay away for short periods of time.
All grades of Arboriculturist (Technician/Consultant/Senior Consultant)
Locations: Coventry, Bristol, Hemel Hempstead, Tonbridge
This role will involve the opportunity to work within a small team that undertake arb consultancy work for a wide range of clients, the majority being repeat work. These range from linear utility projects to large housing developments across the country. We undertake work on all scales from small housing or school extension projects to large scale linear utility projects.
The work load is varied and engaging with the added benefit of sitting within an ecology team where there are real opportunities to broaden your skills to include a range of ecology surveys. Tree climbing also forms a key part of our work stream, as the arb team supports the wider ecology team with aerial assessments of trees with potential bat roosts.
We consider it important to have a varied and dynamic role in order to remain motivated and engaged, therefore opportunities and suggestions are very much welcomed and supported so that the team can develop according to the people within it.
Highly organised, self-motivated and commercially aware, you will able to work independently and within a team structure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with clients at a professional level are pre requisites.
A good working knowledge of the planning system and BS5837:2012 is desirable along with experience of the delivery of baseline constraints surveys, implication assessments, the application of method statements and the production of plans using CAD programs.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake a broad range of consultancy work including providing quotations, undertaking tree hazard surveys, the production of tree work schedules, TPO applications as well as liaison with clients and local authorities.
Experience of arboricultural supervision on demolition/construction sites is also desirable.
A minimum of 2 years experience within a consultancy role is expected.
