Senior Geo-environmental Consultant – Abu Dhabi


The Middle East office is looking for a Senior Geo-environmental Consultant to join our regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi to help us deliver high-level consultancy and technical services.


The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing geo-environmental site investigations and other engineering and scientific projects, from commencement to completion, including factual and interpretative reporting
  • Financial management of projects
  • Project management, client interface, report writing and delivery
  • Participation as a specialist team member delivering high quality environmental, social and health impact assessment work, and related baseline studies
  • Production of tenders and seeking opportunities for new work
  • Establishing and developing strong working relationships with existing and new clients
  • Provide technical leadership in the day to day delivery of projects
  • Mentor and support team members

All Project work must be carried out with due diligence, adhering to RSK procedures and completed within the given cost budgets and time scales agreed, with the specific aim of meeting and exceeding the clients need at all times.


Whilst the role will be Abu Dhabi office based, project work will be required to be undertaken across the Middle East region, with a particular focus on oil & gas sector work in Iraq. The successful candidate will be required to visit Iraq, and potentially other countries across the GCC on a regular basis.


Desired experience:

  • Typically requires a second degree in a relevant discipline and be/or working towards Chartered status (e.g. ICE, IMMM)
  • Over seven years specific relevant experience
  • A thorough understanding of water, ground and soil gas site investigation techniques
  • A thorough understanding of waste management and contaminated land regulatory and legislative framework
  • Familiar with and able to interpret geological maps and geological data
  • Able to use the conceptual model to design and justify the nature and scope of site investigation works
  • Able to complete factual and interpretative Phase 1 and 2 assessments
  • Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy
  • Able to write proposals that are both technically sound and commercially accurate
  • Provide strong technical leadership and mentoring skills to less experienced staff
  • Strong track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget
  • Full driving licence  

Salary and benefits:


  • This is a full-time post with a salary commensurate with experience.
