Overview

Envirolab, a member of RSK Group plc, is an analytical laboratory with an outstanding track record for delivering analysis competitively and on time. The company provides environmental analytical services predominately of soil and groundwater samples. Because of recent expansion, the Cheshire lab is now looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician on a temporary 2 – 3 month basis to work in a UKAS and ISO 9001 standard accredited lab. 

 

Laboratory Technician (temporary 2-3 months) - Hyde, Cheshire

 

This post provides an opportunity for a wide range of individuals, from those returning to work after a career break to those looking for a career in an environmental laboratory. The successful applicant will assist various departments to ensure client needs are met. The principal responsibilities for this role are:

 

  • Weighing of soil and water samples
  • Processing and extraction of soil and water samples up to analysis stage
  • Calibration of laboratory apparatus and instruments
  • Sample disposal
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly lab environment
  • In addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business, without additional remuneration. 

Desired experience

 

No previous chemistry or laboratory experience is required for this role. We are interested in hearing from candidates that are familiar with working in a process driven environment, are comfortable working off order lists and don’t mind getting their hands dirty.  There will be some manual handling involved in the role and will require moving heavy items on a frequent basis.

Salary and benefits

  • This is a full time post working 7am – 3.30pm
  • Salary £minimum wage
